The Fourth High School Memorial Museum is one of the four schools established during the Meiji era to prepare boys, over a period of three years, to enter one of the seven Imperial Universities of Japan.
The red brick building is reminiscent of a time when western culture just started to influence Japan. The couple had chose this location because the university they had studied at was where they first known each other. Hence, having a photoshoot at a school with a nostalgia feel was a clear choice for them.
The facade of the architecture coupled with the corridor of the school are both representative of the schools in Japan, giving the photos a vintage feel. At the same time, the park nearby allowed for the photographer to capture the playful interactions between the couple.
